What is Pink Imperfection?
We are building the worlds best directory to easily find all the local yarn and needlepoint shops, small fiber farms, yarn mills and bespoke dyers, designers and teachers we love around the globe from our travels and local maker groups. This includes programs like Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em and the Hudson Valley Textile Project!
This site was launched and designed to make it easier for us to find the local, independent folks fueling our knitting, crochet, and needlepoint stashes. Please join me in sharing shops, yarns farms, mills, dyers as well as teachers and designers you love so we can ALL enjoy them!
Listings are free! So share as many as you like and as often as you find them!
Little bit about Rebecca…
I first started making things when I was 2 or 3. My mother always had needlepoint projects, counted cross stitch patterns or yarn stashed away for a rainy day and I took full advantage of every single one of them!
Counted cross stitch was my first needle craft. I learned at Pawley’s Island in South Carolina. From there I had private lessons for needlepoint from Mrs. Estes in my home town of Gainesville, GA. And then of course my Grandma Lucile taught me how to crochet afghans for my baby dolls and a shawl for myself. These women had such a profound impact on my belief I could make anything and the pride I felt when a piece was completed.
All this laid the foundation for my passion to always search for new shops, classes, teachers and festivals when I traveled. But finding the little mom and pop farms, shops and classes has not always been easy until now. Together we can share our local favorites and newest finds when traveling right here at Pink Imperfection. The Farm to Needle maker community that is growing to provide the worlds largest Maker Community Directory of local shops, farms, festivals, classes and retreats!
Today, my home has too many needlepoint pillows. Sweaters and hats that just don’t look exactly like the picture in the pattern. And plenty of funny dinner stories about creative projects that just should not be on public display. But my family has been great supporters of my maker obsession through the years. And now I’m thrilled my daughter Bizz has the same passion to make, make, make.
Your additions to Pink Imperfection are what will make this community all the more amazing! Please share as often as you like by posting on our Facebook Group or commenting anywhere on the site.
